I think i might have been a bit keen this morning, it was very cold and wet. Now i have done all the spore prints that were asked of me, you should all have enough to experiment with under the microscope

    .

Hunting shrooms in the dark is hard graft but it si worth it when the light comes and they all react and pop up like they are asking to come home, as always not all shrooms foto'd were taken home

Usually the season for libs is well over by now

I'll try and chill it's hard when i know they are out there waiting for some symbiots to help spread the spores, i came home early this morning because the rain got so heavy even my touch screen wouldn't work on the cam, when it ends i'll give it 24hrs and then have one last big hunt, been a cracking season i got my first batch in the first week of Aug

I was not meant to be there in total darkness that was not the plan, had all 3 spotlights on my bike directed on the floor and wandered around leaning on the bars lookin down, if anyone could have seen me it would have looked pretty mental. I was surprised how many i found in the dark it was a good 40 mins before the light was enough to see

I just noticed if you check top left in this pic you can see the fungi gnat larvi (scarid fly) making a run for it trying to find a new source of moisture before their bodies dry

They're easily missed when your focus is on those stunning fruits

I prefer the little nipple like ones instead of these big greasers but it was a good morning

Yup i know lol i get all angry with myself when i am too lazy to go when i know it will be perfect for a 1000 little fresh nipple ones in 2 hrs work and instead i go the day after and get 1000 big greaser and because i am so spoilt i end up discarding at least a quarter of them and use them to spread spores, did you stumble upon any big ones? lol

nice finds! i wish i had your enthusiasm and iron will. i was gonna go hunt this morning but the sideways frozen rain and sleet with gale force winds were discouraging.

I find i usually have to lie to myself to get myself out there, things like

"I know it looks shitty from in here near the fire but it won't be so bad once your excited with hand fulls of mushroooms" blatantly Orwellian double bluffing myself around the 5 mile cycle ride in the shitty weather avoiding loads of really happy people in vehicles powered by machines who are rushing where ever they are rushing at that time of morning (i work from home so the commute seems like a death race to me now) or i try to trick my inner hippy wit mad thoughts like

"You are the spore spreader, it is a deal you made long ago with the 6 mycellium creatures you befriended who live in the fields, the deal was they grow the muchrooms and you pick the mushrooms, if you don't go pick them then they will stop growing them for you" but the best motivation tool is imagining how amazing it will be to have as many as i might need through the winter and even when it comes to all those summer trips in sunshine bliss, before you know it i am in the middle of the field soaken through to the skin with a smile on me face and a booty in my box

That is the last printing happening there, each time i selected the best candidates for the job from each hunt to make one sheet for each who requested it, i expect pics and grow logs for my payment, i told 2 of the mycellium beast this morning that i was sending their spores to USA and Canada and they were very pleased and said they would have been quite happy for me to throw the old seeding ones about 10 meters from where they are growing, i explained it is like 3000+ miles and they were like doh we're not stupid dood we're fucking sentient mycellium beasts man been here way longer than you hairless monkeys blah blah blah one of them is dead old he goes on a bit now and then likes a rant but i listen cos he is a good fruiter

You have quite a long journey ahead of you because they only move about 5-10 meters per year

Well, it's funny that you mention that. I just had a friend over for the weekend from the UK. He was halfway through unpacking his bag when he stopped, and went a bit pale.
"FUCK!" He exclaimed, "how the fuck did these get in here?" Somehow he'd managed to pack a bag of small mushrooms that he picks at this time of year, and brought them with him on the plane. Obviously i couldn't let him risk taking them back, and he said he had plenty, so i now have a nice amount of beautiful Psilocybe semilanceata to enjoy. Nice.

And yes, there was a big greaser in with all the little perfectly formed nipply ones.[IMG][IMG]

    Cheers mate :amazin:

They look precious, i got lost in a micro flashback fantasy of licking a wee nipple and toying with it before sacredly wolfing it down with about 50 of his friends to get things spiritually rocking an that
