Hello everyone . New guy here and wanted to ask the group how my cake looks . Has been cove since the 11th so day 10 and to me looks really good but the bare spot was a little dry. My question is by your opinions how much longer do they need before inducing into fruiting? Thanks .

Another day or 2 maybe so the mycelium grows over the bare spot, but it looks good to go. If you started fruiting now it would be ok but might as well have it be as strong/ healthy as possible. It's super easy to get impatient with mycology.

Nice setup I'm jealous! Yea what he said wait a few days also been reading and more and more people are saying to wait until first baby pins pop then throw into fruiting guess its a way of listening to your mycelium and its saying I'm ready to move out now! What race you got goin? Nice rhizomorphic growth also you should see a nice pinset when its ready

It's the Z strain . I started with that and golden teacher. It took mid-west so long to send my tent setup with grain bags I ordered so while I waited I ordered my own grain and bought jars and pressure cooked the grain. I inoculated the grain with the Z strain.and when I put the golden teacher in the grain from mid-west it never took off and got slimy.
