Howdy folks! Can I do anything with this thing? Could I just sling it in a jar of millet and watch it go? Or do I need to clone it to agar again? Thanks in advance!
When that happens to me I just take a chunk the of agar and put it to fresh agar. Maybe able to put it to grain but that’s a answer you need from a more skilled person. Good luck
You could take some mushroom tissue from the top (cap) or bottom (inside white fluff) and put that to agar.. you could take a spore print and put that to agar. (Preferred option to get better genes) The more transferring you do the stronger the mycelium gets. In my opinion. And then eat that mother f'r
Thanks folks, I suppose what I was wondering was if I could just sling it in a jar of millet or popcorn...? Seeing as it's a sterile mushroom. Just a quick slice with a scalpel while it's oopsing upside it's head, over a jar of grains is minimal pissing around. Oh, and I've no pots for my no pours either.
Any old jam jar will do for agar.. have a look at chronicles of bod no pour agar Tek on YouTube.. I'm a noob and IV had no issues as of yet..
I've already got plenty of slices out of that pot of agar in other pots of agar... Sooooo, can I just sling the fruit in some grain?
I don't think so to be honest.. I could imagine the fruit would decay and contam may occur.. but I'm not 100%.. the agar is honestly your best hope..
Because the shroomr popped out of the agar.. it's a sign of Strom mycelium.. put both to grain if it makes you feel a bit more confident..
I’d personally put it to agar the mycelium and just take the little fruit out. Then colonize the new agar and put to your grain
Save it for when you accumulate a few more. The agar can be used to inoculate more agar and inoculate sterilized grains.
Had them fruit a few times in test tubes too i'd probably pick the fungi and then transfer the myc to new food, either agar or grain probably for me
