Help from my fellow mycologists on duty. Please tell me if this shoebox tub is contaminated or looking healthy. I have only produced side pins in the past on my dubtubs... really hoping for a good flush this time. It will be my fourth attempt. I have gotten decent with the pf tek cakes and would like to graduate to dub tubs and monotubs. ( like everyone else I’m sure)
Looks like contam to me mate, id love to tell you it was antibiotics, the myc piss thing is such a weird thing that spread so fast and far ( I think cos folks like how it sounds), when i first heard it I liked the term and repeated it but after further reading and chatting with an old legend (no name dropping) I was informed that It isn't piss and also isn't waste material, it's antibiotics. There is no such thing as mycelium piss, this piss thing gets repeated by folks so much that other folks think it's true and then they repeat it. Disinformation dies hard, it's like the old saying goes "A good sounding lie has ran around the world twice before the truth has got it's boots laced up" Since learning this I've been trying to kill this one for years, even Stamets has been trying to kill it for well over twenty years, without any luck at all. Hopefully I've just indoctrined you into the "it isn't myc piss its antibiotics army" I think what you have there is a yellow variety of Aspergillus
I could easily incorrect here, just sharing thoughts based on the single picture, how does it smell? Mushroomy or used sports kit/cheesy feet?

I have the pf cakes down damn it and now I want big flushes like I keep seeing. I’ve only been practicing mycology since last sept so 6 months, but surely the dub tub is really a big cake, right?
Do u recommend misting and fanning or leave alone? Or it just depends on something I don’t understand yet. I will never graduate to penis envy at this rate
I recommend leaving it alone and continue with fruiting conditions such as misting and fanning. H2o2 spray wont help that. Ive had many yellow tinge tubs fruit nicely.
Nah, you'll be fine mycology requires alot of patience. There are some good videos, step by step on monotubs, from start to finish that got me going. And of course all the great people on here too! Unfortunately I just had to trash a tub this week due to contamination.
I have been immersed in YouTube videos and every book I can find on the subject. It seems practice and patience are the best tools along with advice from people like u! Thanks!
You are right! I’m trying soooo hard to keep them in continual fruiting so I constantly have some fruiting. I am proud to be a part of the mycology community. Some of you have been so helpful.
