Thank you for sharing the wonderful photos I sooo "need" to get into the interior... One of these days... Want to do some overnight hikes within the old growth forests
don't worry GG, your pubes are covering it enough to keep for offending passers by,, You can still make it out though, I'd say its definitely THERE....
Just out of curiosity how long have you been hunting and iding your finds? I personally find growing mushrooms easy for the most part but iding some species and finds is beyond difficult for me. Last year I found and ided some oysters and other more common edibles, but have a hard time with a lot of mushrooms outside of edibles.
I started in Oct of 2010. I'm probably a tad aspy..lol...I would spend 6 hours hiking and another 12 studying, at least 6 days a week. I'm so obsessed and satisfied that I don't care if that makes me look crazy..lol
You have the passion for sure, it shows;-). It is amazing how much you can learn when you are constantly thinking/reading/experimenting with something lol. I have been bemushroomed totally for going on three years now and it is amazing how far you can come in such a short period of time. I guess the best way to learn and get better at I.Ding is to be hands on, gotta get out with my camera more this year and put to use the several guides I have on my bookshelf more often. Thanks again for sharing, gives me some inspiration to get out more this year for sure!
I find when i am out hunting i am like a kid looking for magic treasure and get way too engrossed the bear would have bit my arse bfore i seen him, even looking at your pics at the start of the thread i suffered a type of attention deficit fuckup where i could hardly read your thread for flicking back and forwards on the pics so much so that i missed the bit about shitting your knickers with the bear!!!!
LOL! I am that way too GG, in fact I once lost my way in some deep woods because I was so engrossed with the magic that I stopped paying attention to how far I'd wandered. Seems I learn every good life-saving skill the hard way...compasses/gps/breadcrumbs, weapons, etc... Evil M, that's exactly the way to do it. I hope you can get out there and really enjoy the scholastic side.
I plan on it Got myself a Nikon P500 recently so should be fun to play with out in the woods. I got out a fair bit last year but seemed not to find a whole lot. I plan on checking out a semi-local mycological society that goes on hunts and expeditions every few weeks as well, what better way to learn then from people who know their stuff.
Microscopy Pseudoplectania melaena - Asci cylindrical and 8 spored, spores spherical and hyaline. Slightly yellow in 5%KOH.
Dammit RD. Stop posting shit like this. I have been on the verge of getting a good scope now for a while and so far I've contained myself. My wife is going to kill me.
When you finally choose to come to the dark side let me know, I got a guy who sells refurbished high quality scopes for a decent price. I know of several members who have amazing scopes from him around these and other parts, and myself I got a Zeiss Standard 14 scope with NEOFLUAR objectives for around $350 Canadian shipping in.
You hooked me up once already. I know who you are talking about. It will happen, it just can't happen right now.
Celestron LCD Deluxe Digital touchscreen model 44345. Not recommended for mycological studies. It has no way to measure and the camera it uses does not produce very good photos. I got it for xmas and was totally blown away. Now I must find an adult microscope.lol Does he have a market page or ebay store? I HAVE to get something better, it doesn't have to do my dishes but the one I have won't let me learn more. used to be, back in the day, I heard that a lot from guys...hehe...I've grown up a little since my roaring twenties I hope you get one! why thanks buddy, I hope I improve so I can show all cellular structures! OK - now I HAVE TO go do chores..lol...I've been at this desk since 5 am. Thanks you guys for all the sentiment and complements! RD
