I found these on my morning walk. I'm trying to ID them. I live in Massachusetts. If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it. They were scattered in my neighbors yard. All I had was my camera phone so I want to go back later today.

if you do. make sure that you only grab ones that are fresh with light gills. before they start to open up and liquify.

Thanks for the suggestions. Even if they do taste a little different at least I will be getting some protein for the day.

I found a Huge patch the other day myself, but they were too old,and some had begun to liquefy:-(I'm going to catch em before that happens this time, because they are another really good, and common mushroom to be found:)

You want rain?In the past two months here,it's rained maybe three times, and for no longer than 5 to 10 minutes each time. It's super hot and humid too,so it surprises me how drought tolerant some mushrooms are, because I'm still finding stuff.I think Western Kentucky's climate is slowing turning into Texas, because it's been ungodly hot and humid since March, with no rain:-(I just looked, and it's 90 here!

They were all over his yard. About half had already turned but there were enough to still use.

Coprinellus micaceus is not the only Coprinellus that looks like that from their area. We need to know other things about it loke how hairy looking the stem was.
