Today my wife and I decided to grab the camera and go off into the local Hemlock forest to walk our dog. To our pleasant surprise we stumbled upon a treasure chest!!!!
    :crazydance:
I attached a ton of pix at the bottom but put a few highlights in for you guys to check out if you don't want to view all the attachments. I am ID'ing it as G. Tsugae. If there are any arguments on that please chime in. I highly doubt I am wrong on this one. It was fruiting from a dead hemlock and looks and smells exactly like G. Lucidium aside from the bulbous conks.

I am a happy guy at this point. I laid 4 plates when I got home. Have about 12 ounces in the drier and know exactly where the tree is located if the culture attempt fails. I also saved one of the healthy ones in the fridge to make a second attempt if this one gives me trouble. These are some seriously healthy looking reishi! What a great day, :)

I am pumped! I needed a reishi culture that would grow off of pine! What better way to get one than to find one yourself!

Believe it or not he's eleven years young. He eats about 10 grams of Reishi a week.

Yea, I couldn't believe it when I walked up on them. They were right on the path. I was baffled no one else grabbed them first. I am pumped to have had a chance to clone them.

Since I know where the tree is located I will probably be goon back periodically to see if I can get some more fruits for more cultures. I can easily overnight a couple out to a few of you guys to play around with too.

this one will be going into the master strain list if if works out. I'm goin to do everything in my power to make sure that t does.
    :hehehe:
