Oh well, you live you learn. I am going to try it but I have a bad feeling. It seems no one else uses it and it may be for a reason.

I think it will work fine. Let us know the list of ingredients and values when you find out.

    The ingredients are as follows:

    Tryptone 10.0
    Yeast extract 5.0
    Sodium chloride 5.0
    Agar 10.0
    Final pH 7.2 at 37°C

What do you make of this? Do you think it will work?

Looks good to me. Give it a whirl.
I could send you a small mix to compare it against if you like.

Just out of curiosity, why the salt?

,I think this mix may be intended to make a broth.
I'm a bit confused with the salt to. I don't think it is detrimental.
I don't see why it would be there either if this is intended to grow bacteria as I would think the salt would inhibit bacterial growth.

    always something to learn :)

Is a broth like a liquid culture? This was labeled as a scientific agar and after the purchase I got curious and have read it can be used to grow E coli. Don't need any of that.

Originally I thought cool pre-mixed with nutrient.....less I can mess up with. I guess I never thought that it could be limited to what can be grown on it until the second thoughts arrived.

I will mix some up in the next day or two and see what it does. Will update all. If it works it will be a breeze to mix agar.

I can send you some pre mix MEA if this doesn't work out or you want to compare it.

K I'll get back to you. My issue is I have to order everything and I am trying to learn what works, sometimes by error. On the upside, I just spawned my first sawdust block yesterday with oyster mushroom grain spawn. I tried a couple of things with it. I did the peroxide method with one and one without. Does that peroxide method work do you know.
