Are there any mushrooms I could expect to find in Europe this time of year? Plus, anyone know how to go about finding truffles?

    Happy New Year everyone!

I know that Flammulina velutipes is growing where I live and you can also find some Pleurotus ostreatus.
@ eL: Where I live there are a few well known places where you can find truffles and you can get pretty beaten up if you have good dogs and find lots of truffles. Most of them are controlled by mafia cause they can get
    pretty expensive.
But they are growing all over the country but people don't know that, and don't even bother.
My mycology professor even found a new species of truffles.

if you don't have a good pig or dog, your best bet is to look @ the ground around hardwood trees for where the squirrels and what not have been digging them up, then take your little hand rake and poke about a bit, scraping the litter off of the ground under them (or so I have heard)
