is interesting to know...
It's called senescence
ok cool ..i was aware of the term... it came up in pistilwhippeds cordyceps thread.... i guess i thought it just meant too tired to flush and fruit (but only from context cluez).. w all of my n00bness i had yet to hear or research other symptoms...
I let the last 2 bags with the old spawn/mycelium fruit, I knew what I would get... They started pinning 5 days ago (last weekend) Very disappointing to get mushrooms like this, but I know better now...hopefully, lol!
Darn, at least you can get a good omlet out if it
Haha, I can try that but it seems like a lot of work for 'n mini harvest like that! I usually gave it to my cats to play with, they sniff it and pull stinky faces, lol
I've just harvested them, a bit more than I expected. My mom's going to fry them in butter for us...they look od but smells so good! Not going to be toys for the cats this time
Just an update...those strawlogs that did not want to do anything, the ones with the deformed fruits...I gave them to my dad for compost, he buried them outside in the garden. More than a month later we were curious to see if the earthworms liked it. When he opened it they looked just the way when he buried them. He decided to make a little tent thingamajig and cover them with straw and leaves...not very long and wow! That thing has given us so much of the most beautiful mushrooms and it's still going strong!
