Here's a couple pics from my latest go at green, basically I took my 4x4 tent and built a wooden frame inside. I used 1/4" hardware cloth for walls then lined that with landscape weed fabric.

I have been keeping wiggler worms in an old fridge for around 5 years without removing very much material out, so it was a 5 year old colony but anyone could do this with a new or younger colony. I moved the worms and their dirt into the 4x4 tent.

The seedlings are planted directly into the worm bed. I feed the worms veggie scraps and the worms turn that into the plant food and distribute the droppings all around.

That's it, no measures, no guessing what's wrong or fixing deficiencies, no "drench and dry" rollercoaster watering. I give the bed a little shower of water to keep the surface moist for the worms, in turn the worms keep moisture pretty evenly distributed. The seedlings just went in, cold temps lately and they've been in starter mix too long has them looking scruffy. The HellStar in the top left corner went in the dirt about ten days ago, before that it was struggling like the others. There are also some volunteer tomato and potato plants in there. At some point ill plant some culinary herbs and a vetch/clover mix for green manure and cover 20180115_164507.jpg 20180115_164516.jpg

Looks neat I'm stuck watching. I'd worry the tomato plants plus litter would attract pest bugs.
Awesome idea though I like how a good worm colony would help keep soil evenly moist longer. Super cool keep it up

There will be bugs for sure I've already done a small scale version from seed to chop the results were excellent this is the scaled up version.

Pill bugs are about the worst problem I had, nuisance pests mostly but sticky traps on the surface and fly paper keeps them at bay. There's also centipedes and spiders. I have also found a sprinkling of soil on top of the scraps keeps the side insects like flies down.

Here is a nug of hell mint x gorilla dog x thank you Jerry from the small scale, I dubbed it "20 lb hat" because my stoner buddy said he burned a small bowl and felt like his hat weighed 20 lbs, its the best sleep strain I've probably ever had lol

These are two random cth crosses with hell monkey. I sowed about 60 seeds in a big worm tote a long while back and pretty much neglected it. They went through extreme cold, overcrowding, very low nutrients, insects, etc. These are the female survivors pollinated with the male survivors. The first one has a classic smell like heavy pine-cedar and both are super dense and sticky. 20180416_091010.jpg 20180416_090935.jpg
