so back story is iv got a bit of room to spare and a permit to grow so why not mess around with breeding?
So I had some feminised "opium" strain seeds and some "papaya" that were normal and non feminised.

    why try this?
-extra room to play with and no risk of law issues
-to see what the effects are for future seeds if any
-is this viable or just a lesson to never breed feminised seeds
-to document result and add to community to improve trial and error results plus gain feed back from people of all experience levels.

(I'm new and not claiming to know anything about Cannabis. As a new medical self producer or in other words a grower, I'm trying to find the best strains for my medical condition as well as play with some breeding and experiment with anything that seems fun. Between working, university, and rainy days here this hobby is one of my favourite pass times. I bought from producers and dispensaries in the past and feel I can have a better finished product due to not requiring profits. The available product to me when growing iv found so far is way more then i can buy,, cost for production vs cost from a company through Health Canada. I was always running out of meds but now I always have something plus have way more money.)

Above is my (female) plant from a seed from the feminised opium fertilised by the normal papaya male plant.

this picture shows how iv trained this plant and now can see some mutation. iv gone for a 8 top pruning bud set but not all tops or branches are of even hight. i thought it might be only this plant but the males i also grew before i cut them showed all the same mutation. not uniform at all and none had the "even" growth i wanted to see. not one...

This type of low stress training is to try to achieve a flat canopy.

The two to the left are clones from this one mother. They are from the cuts made to get 8 colas of same hight.

the clones were put right into 12/12 (after roots had grown out) to see the sex before I invest to much into the cost of nutes/time/space for males. males were cut down and removed except for one clone male. two female clones are also going to be grown out.

clone A = male and female from PO1 (seed from papaya and opium breed)
full plant = bud quality and results of fem bred with non fem.

Im not sure what to do with the other clone or the male if i should test other non fem strains with a mutant male?

Fattest fan leaves iv ever seen before

This above is the male clone from the best male I had. decided coco coir and perlite for this one.

Ahh mate i don't wanna dance on your fire with negavives but feminised seed is possibly thje very worst way to start any breeding program as you are starting with a hemaphrodited genetics, a feminised cannabis is just a female that has been pollinated by a hemaphrodite to make seeds, this results in a non male genetic seeds, chromasomes and all that jazz.

dance dance bro i love it:) thats why i posted!! google had no definitive answers.

i think with the style of my training of the plants and the fact that every plant shows un even growth for me so far,, that this is proof to me that it a no go:)

il kill the male tho as this is as far as im going with the breeding. the more i read the more it sounds bad.

You'll still get some nice smoke if you finish of the females/slight hermies so enjoy the grow but if you want to breed seriously for yourself start with good foundations on both sides, looks like you got a nice little grow system going

il post the mutants as soon as they pop. not sure if il smoke it, or even let it finnish... depends on results. im prity picky these days with my medical condition, on top of that i dont want to contaminate my house with pollin incase future projects mgt by chance be effected (lots of setup environment tweeking needed still to come, like increasing light for one)

im waiting on some regular type seedlings to show sex. i was just curious if the hype was true about not breeding fems. thanks for saving me time and money on running cost! ur reply was super quick so i can clean up and get a propper project going asap.
