Hello all. Im trying to make the most bioavailable and "full spectrum" tincture from reishi and lions maine. Traditionally i would just do a double extraction method but im trying to make a more palatable tincture. Does anyone have any experience with oil extraction. Benifits? Not as effective? I would prefer not to have to take the extra step of distiling the alcohol out of my tincture. Any thoughts?

Done alcohol and water extractions on other fungi but I was chasing highly water soluble compounds.

I done many many many oil based cannabis extractions, criteria there being keeping low temps to protect less volitile terpenes and flavenoids by doing an oil and water extraction together.

I think this would work for fungi extractions but all theory, what is the solubility of the desired compounds from the reishi?

I'm sure a simple cold extraction on oil would work well but it is basically filling jar dried fungi with oil and storing somewhere dark and clean for a few mo ths before straining pulp and keeping liquid, I've done this with cannabis before and works well, like in olive oil.

All just thoughts out loud there

Thats a good question. I suppose the only way to find out is do the tests and get the analysis done. The largest spectrum of terpiniods polysaccharides possable.

Then I'd say below 31c temps in whatever you do, that's where even the lesser volatile terpenes evaporate during cannabis extractions and terpenes are oiks shared by all plants n such, this is just pure extrapolation and speculation based on the stuff that governs my extractions, at 21c the lesser terpenes evap, thats what we smell everytime we crack open a bag and sniff it

Is there some sort of breaking down of fungi cell structure needed to extract fully, like with cacti flesh? Or would low temp low volatile environment do the trick? Like just a long cold soak? Fill sterile Mason jar with fruits, add oil, wrap in something to keep light out and burp it weekly for an fae

Set one up every week for a year, open and filter first jar and end of year and that has to have everything oil soluble in there, squeeze your pulp and keep liquid, used to od this with shade leaf to make canna olive oil back in the yooth
