Hi All, Will be hiking tomorrow through the japanese mountains in the nagano area, I've been researching types of wild mushrooms used in cooking that are commonly found in forests and also psychedelic mushrooms, It's been very wet here recently with some nice warm days so I'm feeling positive I'll find many different types. I've already had a look around where I'm staying and have found some nice mushrooms and also some large Chanterelle mushrooms that I was unaware of and just ignored, I've attached a few photos of some mushrooms that I've found but can't identify as of yet, most are found in the forest on the forest floor and also on dead trees and branches. Tomorrow on my journey I will take photos of the mushrooms I find and will also collect them, hopefully, I can identify them but I will post pictures of my finds after I come back from my adventures. If anyone has any good information and links about wild mushrooms and shrooms in japan please feel free to share, I'm sure though most of the mushrooms in the forest area are similar to other places in the world with similar environments. Thanks, Shroomcooker Both unidentified but only two photos I have, tomorrow when I collect I will take more photos and have more details.
Sounds like you in for a good adventure, good luck, I am picking tomorrow morning looking for actives on the borders of Scotland
My advice is to read our id request guide and gather that information. Get clear detailed pictures of every part of the mushroom. Keep different species separated. Cant wait to see more
Hey guys, Currently on my way home, have found at least 10-15 different species, have detailed photos just need photos on white backgrounds and going to try get spore prints. I’m sure I’ve also found nice spot with lots of Psilocybe argentipes.
Hey All!, Ive taken some photos of what I've collected, size etc here's a description of the mushrooms as well, i've listed them in order as well with description matching number, I've had a long day and its now 11pm and super tired so haven't had time to identify but if anyone can help that would be awesome, Ive got two album links, one with photos against a graph and other of them in the wild (not numbered) Also one of the mushroom's spores was purple on the paper towel and also very purple on a paper towel I already threw in the bin but not sure which ones spores were purple as they were all together in a container. https://ibb.co/album/mB8Xiv Indoor photos https://ibb.co/album/f6AOqa Outdoor photos 1. picked under tree areas where fallen leaves where, cap is not slimy just moist to the touch, smell is nice, could be chanterelles 2. I have seen the brown shroom with the web like spikes here in the states. Seems like fun hunting Japan, I'm sure you will find some great edibles there.
