Hey all, I'm a first timer, and I noticed today that my mushrooms have white fuzz growing on a majority of their ends. I've read this could be normal and due to high humidity, but I've also read about possibly lethal contaminates. Looking for guidance!! Thanks
Fuzzy feet are normal for me .As long as u don’t have any bad colors all’s good in the neighborhood. Like bod said have fun
It def is and your first couple grows you worry about like a newborn! Pretty sure I asked the same thing when I started thought it was cob web lol
Yah, I have one B+ and one Fuji. I didn't get to two of the mushies on time from the Fuji bag and they released spores all over the mycelium. Super novice move :/ my mycelium is purple now. I honestly have been most worried about any possible contamination. I'm assuming it's time to get rid of it? I'm definitely not experienced haha.
No spores usualy don’t hurt anything .i have had tubs that looked like crap that went on to flush 3 times so no worries there .once they grow out they are more resistant then u would think .I dumped a mono with green on the compost pile green went away and it fruiting like hell in 100 degree heat .maybe I’m doing it all wrong ! Lol
Fiji... that's what I meant, obviously. just diving in. Here's a pic of the purple, spore reaction right? Honestly can't grapple my mind around the idea of a flush with a bag grow.
The bag looks rough don’t it .i keep promising myself I will try a bag grow and I have seen people have great success with them but like u said it’s hard for me to see how the will get enuf fae .lol
Thanks!!! Switched to a tub. Like you said Nihidao, the bags are difficult to get enough fae. Between work and covid craziness, I couldn't find the time to really fan them properly. Plus it's really humid here, so moisture was hard to control. Heres a pic of the tub, the mycelium is already taking off way quicker than the bags
Used a premade dirt from mushroom supply. Working my way up to making the grain myself, but still nervous about having a clean enough space to do it in.
If u follow a tec it’s not that hard ! pick one that’s solid follow it like a recipe and u will have success. Not saying u won’t fail but to be honest I fail more now then when I started because I don’t always follow tec u will experiment and take shortcuts as u learn some work some don’t . A still air box is a great investment Don’t stress over sterile conditions just be clean as u can stick to tec and U are well on your way my friend .
By the way u got fruit from a bag ! That’s awesome I gave up on mine and spawned them to a tub. Some guys swear by them and do well too .But they have come along way since I tried them.may be time to give them another shot. Now for oyster blocks oh ya baby only way to fly.
