    Hey Mycoyek group!

I started growing BDP (Penis Envy) Strain, and its day 23 and still no pinning out of my 10 tubs, currently my other 2 tubs started harvesting 7 days ago.

The temp is 74 degrees, on 6500K bulbs on 12 then off 12.. Right now I am fanning 2 times a day.

I am at a loss for words why they haven't pinned yet, I tried shocking 2 of the tubs by dropping it 2 feet, and that didn't induce pinning and that was 72 hours ago.

Here is some pics of the tubs, as you can see one mushroom is trying to grow, but still no pinning in the others.

We've had a few wierd issues with a few varieties of PE (by treating them like we do other cubes), our current attempt at better results is once we get to full pinset we are now casing it with a pasteurised subs mix of coir and verm, then back to colonisation until pinset through the casing.

Treating like we do other Cubensis resulted in loads of mad blobs and morphs and not the uniform canopy of dicks we were chasing

So any recommendations on how I can get these bins to start pinning?

Does casing need to be pasteurized? Or can a layer of coir just be sprinkled on top of colonized sub?

I was not risking unpasteurised myself, so made a mix of 60/40 coir/verm and steam pasteurised it first like I do my subs

How many days in are you from casing? I'm guessing it'll take up to two weeks to see if the casing the blobs/colony solves it and it'll pin through the casing.

Do you know what causes the blobs to happen and whats the best way to prevent the blobs from happening?

I have had success using miracle grow right out of the bag .But like bod said there is a risk since u are depending on the company to pasteurize it .I suggest at least a quick cook.

We got to full pinhead mat side by side with pink buffalo and ban hua thai, the buffalo and BHT continued onto fruit and first flush all normal, the PE blobbed up and mutated, we picked everything, then instead of a 2nd flush the pe stalled at pinheads, so after a few chats here and there we thought fuck it and cased the PE (coir and verm pasterurised) 7 days after the stall and put it back to colonise, it is now fruiting regular shaped PE doinks but too soon to say if this was just a natural 2nd flush we'd have gotten anyway without the case, being as it's a single incident with no backups for theory etc.

We had to raise temps for them too, high 70's low 80s so far

Sounds good! I will case the stalled blob bins, I use a Verm/Coco/Steam Water..

So I pick the blobs out before casing the stalled colony. or Just case over the blobs?

Would removing the blobs and just water it work as well to get the bin to start pinning?

Or is casing the top layer the only way to get these bins pinning?

I picked the blobs out then cased them same as you just described, got just over 1 oz dry and everyone keen to try them :D medicinally of course.

I got told from several different growers that they set the tub, get it pinning, then case it and back to colonisation or they get blobs and mutates if trying to fruit the first pinset, those pins push through the casing and become the canopy they say, i am hoping they say truths, next time around i will case at first pinset instead of trying to fruit

Whats your thought's of it being Mycogone Perniciosa? After reviewing the pictures?

    https://mycotek.org/index.php?attachments/72684/

Normally I have not had to case the pins, the pins normally grow and then harvest after 18-20 days.. which I generally get three flushes.

This is the first time this BD (Big Daddy) has ever done this, which I am trying to figure out why this happened, as my friend tested his BD spores and got pinning and then fruited.

I am extremely sanitary, so just wondering if its just a genetic thing, or did I shit the bed lol, as this has happened in 10 of my 12 bins, my other two bins are fruiting properly.

    So in conclusion lol

    - Do you think it's Mycogone Perniciosa?
    - What can cause this freak rock formations and the lack of any pins?
    - Is removing the blobs and casing it the only way to get these bins to pin?

Thanks again for all your feedback.

Don't think it's the pathogen, no watery bubbles and decomposition looking mess, as for the rest of the questions i'm in the same boat as you and looking for answers as i grow trying different things other growers advise, that's what i've tried so far
