    Greetings all!
I've had an interest in this subject for a time now, this Christmas I decided to give myself a gift and get into a hobby. (Last year my son asked me why Santa didn't get me anything) Anyways I did fall for the old grow kit thing while doing my research before I dug deeper. I got a nice tote out of the deal. I've decided after spending time reading on the forums to start with agar. I purchased gt/b+/tc/aa+ spores. On 12/28 I inoc'd 27 dishes and on 12/31 another 28. So far I've got 1 for sure green contam, 2 that have the mycelium starting but possibly other stuff going on and a few with just a few bright white spots starting. Seeing Bod do his thing on youtube and reading MMGG (page 29) inspired me to build a SAB, I did the inoculations with the box half built but it was a stuggle due to the height pouring the agar with the 500ml media. So I don't any questions but feedback would be welcome on the box. Most of the material I had and I had a really fun time building and using the box. I'm so far enjoying the process this hobby/art has to offer and the personalities of the people I've read and see online seem all like really awesome people. So thanks to all the people that have been contributing and lending their experience to anyone thats willing to listen. Back to research for me.

The box as I did the inoculation, busted arm holes I had to wrap in tape
    Broken holes SAB.jpg
The lower box after I fixed the arm holes and put sliding covers so I can close up to take a pee break or whatever. Box is only 8.5 inches tall inside so I have to use smaller bottles inside. Also hot ass AGAR bottles do create some condensation on the ceiling.
    half SAB.jpg
Full setup with the top piece on. The glass on top of the lower shelf is the same one that goes on the top/front of the full box. That just lays on the top, so I can load up the box the way I like it, then spray my disinfectant and wait. Second piece is another 20 inches taller so 29 inches or so is the height on the back wall.
    Full SAB.jpg

Thanks for taking a minute to have a look. I'm pretty excited about this process I've decided to engage in. I've been doing a lot of the spirit searching type stuff and I'm very excited to try the heroic dose with my set and setting and with my own babies I've played with from spore to agar to fruit. My kit did come with predone brf cakes but I'm wanting to try the shoebox pretty bad. Since I've only just done agar I have some time to make those decisions I suppose.

Thank you sir. I purchased some blue gloves from harbor freight that have the plastic sleeves that go all the way up to make the glovebox and start making sandwiches (per your advice). I've read many different takes on SAB vs glove box, I've been working with my hands my whole life, I do HVAC so I deal with sheet metal and hot shit all the time, and I just cant stand gloves. So I'm gonna see how my contam rate goes before I try out the glove box stuff... You make it look easy, for me its like driving at night with sunglasses on. I've stumbled on a few different forums, there is another one with a ton of tek from a guy named Bod. Are you the same Bod as that guy? Bodhisatta is his name. Just curious, and thank you again for all your great responses and awesome videos on the tube. I definitely hit the subscribe and like. I've watched most of your videos (except your traveling videos). You are one of the people that makes it look easy and doable, even the basic shit like field capacity that you went over while showing that your stuff was too wet was very informative.

Welp a month and a half later Bp.jpg Doing some LC's, having fun with agar and learning grains. half gallon.jpg My lady is asking when its going to be over... HAHAHAHA cab.jpg I run a business and my home is my office so this has been a very nice way for me to put my attention on something and watch something else grow that doesnt stress me out too much and doesn't require me to go outside. Think I'm nearing the time to put it into a tub. Shoe box tech to start but i've got tons of tubs and a spare room to take over, so likely shelving next then just let the mushies tell me what to do. If I've all of a sudden got a bunch of the grains ready to go, should I try all the shoe boxes in one variety so that I can watch how each is doing? I wanted to push GT but it seems to be the least aggressive out of the 4 (AA+,B+, TC and GT). TC has been showing up faster on all of the stuff I've been doing (different foods, agar/lc). I've still got 9/10 cc's left in all the syringes as well, thats a pretty cool fun part. This hobby is limitless as long as you can put a little time and care into it. The money is whatever, I make enough that its all for fun, but a discipline is a discipline.
