Yellow and pink/orange ooze

    That looks like some form of lipstick mold (Sporendonema purpurescens [Geotrichum candidium]), the orange liquid produced is possibly antibiotic metabolites produced by the mycelium during the fight for the space, are you noticing new smells, like a sweaty foot cheese smell?

    Could also be Aspergillus sp variety, Aspergillus niger is black and the one most people know from damp kitchens and bathrooms; Aspergillus flavus is yellow; these molds, like many others, change in colour and appearance according to the medium on which they occur. Several species are thermophilic.

    There were no different smells. However, contam did spread pretty quickly to other tubs. Do you have any recommendations on how to identify different types of growth?
