Thats a cool kit. I'd put it into fruiting conditions. It looks like overlay but you wont know for sure until you try to fruit it.

In to a cycle of day and night at 12/12 light/dark with temps in mid 70s and relative humidity usually around 90%, during the day ensure fresh air exchanges 2 to 3 times per day, i replace all air inside the tub with fresh air, I use a small fan I clean with alcohol before use, start of fruiting it's done twice per day, by end of a flush the day before harvesting I'll be doing it 3 to 5 times a day to remove all the extra co2 being released as they grow, the need increases progressive as the amount of fungi flesh increases in the tub.

I dont know what you are referring too I never said take it out of anything, I described the environment needed to create fruiting conditions to answer your question as precisely as I could, regardless what kit or tub or whatever we are growing in, doesn't matter if an expensive kit or a glass jar, same conditions needed

I just described the microclimate we need to create and maintain, your grow kit needs to provide an environment similar or be in that environment to produce fungi

Did the kit come with any info on how to make the mushrooms form at this point ? You're looking good so far.
Overlay is dense growth on the fruiting surface which doesnt fruit or fruits poorly
You could use the plastic bag as a humidity dome and fan it 2-3 x a day

I’m fanning 4-5 times a day GGBod seems to be getting a little frustrated with me You have to understand I am so new at this that I’m just a lot stupid. I’ll get there and I won’t give up. Thanks redcat. The kit came with instructions just vague instructions so that’s why I’m trying to get help from you guys.

This is a tough hobby. One site says one thing another site has different info. I think you're doing excellent. My first kit was a disaster and i got ripped off with no results. The company phone number never picks up...lol. How much did the kit cost ? I think i got robbed severely and paid $200

Oooof, I paid 50euro for my first kit, was on agar for months without any containers to sterilise grain, so I got a grow kit in order to skip some steps, but the grow kit failed, I should have just mist it lightly and fan it regularly, but I "try'd" too many things. iI managed to transfer some mycelium to agar, and grew it out. I managed to make a shoebox out of the transferred mycelium. Saved myself the strain and the 50 quid. Was fair happy with the result being a noob, it's all down to your thirst or desire to find the right info and execution

Fifty dollars Canadian but I bought two the first time so a $100.00 and both were total duds. Long story short they sent me 2 replacement kits, one was all broken up the other has the overlay issue; and today I discover it had contamination issues so I put it out in my Lille mushroom garden. Now they are sending me two more kits and believe me when I tell you I complained a lot about how they shipped and what poor quality the kits are.

I’m going to try growing my own cubes from the spore prints I have done. I’m waiting for the Paul Stamets book that GGTBod recommended. I just ordered the book. Oh yeah I forgot to tell you I have 3 kits still and I took them out of the little tray they came in and pit them back in their plastic bags and they are growing again from the sides. Yahoo

Yes I was but I had to throw the out ….had tamI paid $50.00 for each kit…once again I am getting 2 replacement kits for the last two …one Brocken and the other overlay….so their customer service is good but their kits are crappy… but I’m not turning down replacements
