The blend I usually see for 4 wood loving gourmet's is hardwood pellets and soy hulls. I sometimes see people add a little bit of straw as well. I couldn't tell you specifics but I'm sure if you look up a hardwood and soy hull sub recipe you'll find something that you will like.
And a liquid culture you're gonna wanna order some light malt extract powder form form you can get it at a home brew company if you have one around. I usually do .35 g of LME (Malt extract) for every 300 ml of culture I want to make. I'll measure out all my water I like to use distilled for LC and get it heating in a pot to the pot of water I add my LME and I added a teaspoon of Karo or honey. It helped thicken the LC a little which I noticed helped it colonize faster. When everything is dissolved put into jars and PC @ 15psi for 15 min allow to cool inside PC because if you take em out to early they will break and make sure to have water in PC just about as high as liquid in jars. I was doing experimental LC with magic types and it always looked so good in the jar then I would inoculate and mold would show after about a week. Just make sure you take all precautions and be as clean as possible and you should be okay
