 Legalizing it, is a step in the wrong direction... IMHO... The word "legal" needs to be completely removed! It is a plant!

An example: alcohol used to be "free use", without regulation... Then prohibition made it illegal... Then it was "legalized", which is code for "Still illegal, but now government is getting a fat slice of the pie"... This whole "two steps forward, one step back" routine got old about four millennia ago

    The End Is Near!!!!!

All good things come to an end, it has been knoiwn for a long time now that the new right wing government in the Nederlandse has had a hardon for the coffeeshops, the first legislation falls into place this year, basically preventing any non Dutch national from buying from the coffeeshops and Dutch nationals to require a possible 'weed pass' registration system in place.

it was fun whilst it lasted

You go to be kidding me! That is how they do it here! :usa: You need a "med card" to get medicine at the dispensaries.
I guess they must have liked the idea.

Yup the lawyer for the coffeeshops union said that all its members will loose 90% of the revenue and considering 50% of everything you sell ina coffeeshop gets paid in tax from t-shirt to cup of cofee they are gonna be fucking poverty stricken in a month, maybe they like the medieval barter trade system that the Greeks are adopting lol

Try running around amsterdam on 10 grammes of truffles and avoid bikes..now thats fun!...

Isn't Aryan from greenhouse taking them to court over this? This is blatant discrimination. The dutch have never sided with this sort of agenda.

I don't know him personally but i've heard he is a straight up bloke, my buddy owns 2 coffeeshops in Haarlem and it is where i get my info usually on the changes and he told me theyhave tried several versions of this proposed previously but everytime it got shot down due to tax revenue loss.

if it stays the coffeeshops are fuckt, everything you sell in your coffeeshops gets tax'd 50% (this is why most have a headshop next door in a separate proerty to avoid paying 50% on t shirts n smoking papers n other such shit) so if you loose 90% of your revenue and pay 50% tax on the 10% you do take!!!! Business over all back in the hands of criminals who pay zero tax

IMO and to the extent of my knowledge both Aryan and Barney and the rest are people who made their millions in the legal weed market; however their suppliers was and remain growers operating in the dark. The idea behind the Opium Act and the entire dawn of cannabis in Amsterdam was that it would be a small local commodity for dutch people. The 500 grammes rule was never followed in many cases and after the shit hit the fan and the entire world came there, they employed runners that kept the stash full all the time. Then there was the border smuggling etc...

One of the great issues about Amsterdam is that its too crowded. There are simply so awfully much people that the locals complain about it + all the high people who ride bikes, walk into traffic etc etc (several accidents takes place every month...) and then there was me, who took 10 grammes of mushrooms and tried to avoid bikes, which is hard because everyone in that got damn city uses them and they come in packs of 30.

Ive been there twice and I cant say there is anything that really attracts me other than the culture. The downside to Amsterdam is that is PRICY. everything is expensive, food, beer etc. I couldnt eat dinner for less than 200 Kr, around 25 euros...I survived on mcdonalds and not eating.

However; if you do have much cash then a week there is heaven, next time Im gonna go out to the countryside, bring 30 grammes of truffles and live under the stars:)

Ive always said: The best solution for Holland is to make the surrounding countries legalize weed. Result: Far less coffeeshops and lowered prices. LEss customers, less problems, less cannabis etc. The reason why Amsterdam is famous is because its the single place in the world that one can do this. If the stupid politicians in the rest of Europe realized this then they could actually solve their "problem". However, banning weed in Holland wont change shit...

I believe Aryan has A LOT to lose on this (including all the other owners..), as the backbone of his empire is built on "crime" (the growers..) A big portion of the weed they produce goes to the coffeeshop business and when the law passes and so on the cops will start rounding the growers up etc...
Its the same with the judges of high times; close to all of them are on the most wanted list at home etc, but because they are rich and well off they can stay below the radar...Id say most of the people involved are either growers or distributors...so everyone has a lot to lose..

However, I believe its legal to grow weed for personal consumption in Holland...

To what i was told it is one lawyer representing all coffeeshop owners in a joint lawsuite, not just the amsterdam shops, it was started in the town of masterich a few month back to stop the german tourists convoys that clogged the highways that crossed the border, also the little towns down near Essen in belgium had a major problem

I remember that story and yeah its true...

its all a dumb mess..in denmark, weed is free and everywhere. In holland, the same thing, in germany, they dont give a shit, in most other nations..they dont give a shit..legalize it already...*sigh*

There is no sanity in having laws which cant be upheld and that nations for some reason dont uphold.

The nordic countries are the only ones left that give shit, right now we are campaigning about the
"dangers of marijuana"...*sigh*...all i need is a train ticket...

I would give it some afterthought, if every effort to "remove it" wasnt so blatantly silly.
We Swedes still believe it and the rest of the world dont give shit...:p
