I haven't been on much lately, mostly because I haven't grown anything in a while. Kind of the way things go with me and hobbies. I decided to tackle this guy for the summer. An outdoor wood fired oven has been on my to do list for quite some time.
I thought I would share with you guys.....

Every time I poured concrete it rained.

    Just the keystone left.

    Fire brick complete.

    Chimney transition and insulation installed.

    First fire.

Forms removed. It stands about 11 feet tall at the chimney.

Firing the brick with a weed burner.

I started this thing in June and just barely wrapped it up this weekend. Kind of a fun project though.

My first thought when I saw it!

    I see you'll enjoy your oven :)

Quality build if I might add.

That looks absolutely perfect man, first rate masonry work right there.
Can I ask if you used any plans/designs when building, or did you just wing it? I am looking for good resources for building brick and mortar ovens: books, articles etc.
I just moved out to the country recently and have been itching to build something similar, now that I have the room to.

There used to be a pdf here....I can't seem to find it now.

    https://www.fornobravo.com/pompeii-oven/pompeii-oven-plans/

Seems to have been converted into html. It is not a step by step but more of a guideline with some good tips. The site also has a forum with a ton of information.

If I can find the pdf I downloaded I will pm it to you Fallen.

I won't lie. I had help with the outside. The dome was me but the block work I had assistance from a mason friend of mine.

It is going to take a while to learn how to use this thing. Pizza cooked in a minute 40. The floor was at 800 F and the walls over 1000. You can't be asleep at the wheel at these high temps.

Awesome build !! Came out great !! I just got home from doing a heavy days work of breaking up a huge slab of the hardest concrete in the world, lol// Loading it on a trailer; then mixing and poring and finishing the new slab . I AM EXHAUSTED!!
