    Hi dudes!

Well so its time for me to shop for a ballast and light and its also time for me to break with most of the tenant agreement rules. I cant keep fire hazards inside my apartment. I dont mean to say that ballasts or lights just catches fire, its only Ive read about the horrid marijuana fires on the internets and I am trying to make sure this never happens.

Well so I am lookinjg at this ballast:

    http://www.hydrogarden.se/ljus/ballaster/maxibright-digilight-digital-ballast-250-watt.html

Basically it says that this ballast is digital, which is good
It also says it has "low heat development"
    Its a 250 Watter.

Now I have plans of using a 250 W bulb or 400 watt I have not yet decided really. I have some questions

    1. Can the ballast catch fire? I have plastic mats in my living room, where the tent will stand and plastic can burn (and baad) Where should I place the ballast and on what?

    2. Will the light explode? I have heard stories of these lights popping. Aside from going blind from shrapnel, its the same fear: FIRE... Are there any rules or guidelines I should follow? I know to clean the damn bulb, but other than that nothing-

So basically I want to prevent the risk of fire and keep safe.

    Oh..

    3. I am looking at both magnetic and digital ballasts. Whats the pro/con in safety terms. I am ready to go with a magnetic one, theyre way cheaper and I can use 400 Watts instead of just 250.

Whats the difference, is it safer to go digital?

If you plan on going to a hydroponic shop it'll be a little more expensive as per usual, online is typically the cheaper option.

My preference is digital. Id opt for the 400-600 digital with the wattage control so you can go from 600w to 400w, or 400w to 200w helps a bunch depending on what your plan is there is always the room for expansion that way.

Yes there is always a risk of fire or electrical problems when dealing with large amounts of watts.
Ideally 1 outta like 5000 lights may be faulty in some sort of way (user error or not)

Major has a solid point some of the "kits" you can get you gotta watch cause some things don't come with everything. Ie) shade, bulb, cordset. There are also ALOT of sets that do come with these options aswell for an additional charge (hydroponic shops are notorious for nickle and dimeing due to lack of continual sales they'll try and get you for what they can.
At my local shop they sell full kits and half kits depending on what shade you want to do with as there are many different types of shades\hoods you can buy with different venting options.

Now for venting. Do you plan on venting both tents off one inline fan or are you going to do separate exhaust systems for your grow?
Personally as mentioned before I'd go with a inline that can Handle both tents and have one exhaust system this is where the CFM comes into play. So much CFM per square foot I believe it is. I'm I am mistaken I am sorry and someone please correct me.
Exhaust systems can get fairly pricey depending on your situation and what you'd like to do.

Co2 systems would be your next expansion I'd say, you can get a full set up with all the bells and whistles for around 150-200$ last time I looked into it. (bells and whistles should include everything you will need such as regulators, lines, piping ect)

Well, IDK about 400 W, theyre very expensive, but ill consider it. I am not doing this for maximum yields,, more out of fun and this is something I thought Id never master so building my nursery and Main Tent, the 80 is just great plus I get to hang aroundhere with my KD:ishness, which is somethinh great. I am thinking of hazzxxoring the entire internets:p So IDK if Id be ready for a 400, first reason being that If I overspend the electricity these people might start charging me for it. Damn modern wireless electricity meters. Second reason being need. I would not make use of such massive amounts of light, not unless I learn to take care of smaller plants. Getting the humidity stable in the winter is HARD, as ive noticed. I may even have to buy a damn humidifier, so my first moneysink is intake and exhaust for the 60 tent (nursery) and then managing seedlings effectively. I thought Id step up so I could grow smaller plants in the small nursery tent and them give em hell with the Metal Halide. I still have to throw up 2 000 kronors for the light/fan and venting...

Thanks Specialty for your expert advice. If I was admin, id elevate you to Most Special Super Member number one. Seeing as this is n0t the case, our only option is total server dominance. :p:p

Im just a tad bit drunk. Thanks dude:)

They include cords with some of their reflectors. I am still not sure where I will buy this stuff, there are 3-4 stores I want to check. The cops are pretty fucked up here, they keep track of customers. 3 of the stores are shady internet companies which I dont trust + risk of more fucking cops. If I get busted inside this place I lose my home but I am parousing the internets for different models. RIght now I am trying to find a fucking fan ..some of these stores market themselves almost exclusively to cannabis growers so if they mess up nahh were in cayman islands, go jerk go..they wont settle for anything. Most of them are EU stores that operate between Holland and Britain. Some are local, but I am still pissed that they shut down Sporewonder, I had a badass grow project planned out and now I have to buy at elephantos, the most flagged illegal EU store there is.

THank god for small business owners the customs dont flag..
