We are starting to grow blue oysters and experimenting with a variety of mediums - coffee grounds, aspen sawdust bedding and straw. As far as I know we pasteurized our substrate correctly, heating it up in water in a pillowcase to 170 F, letting it sit for a bit and then squeezing as much moisture out of it as we could. Etc, etc...basically, I'm just wondering if someone more knowledgeable could confirm that we are indeed doing this right from a few pictures? Is this mold or the beginning of mycelium growth?
