Was up at the crack of dawn this morning, the orignal 3 man planned expedition turned into a two man dedicated pilgrimage to the sacred site, we merged in with the local wildlife (golfists) monitoring their habits and mimicking their behaviour so as not to scare them to enable us to get to our quarry. Some were foto'd and not kept after closer inspection Updated pics from 12th nov in last post
Those liberty caps are beautiful. It's been too long since i enjoyed those. Very magical fungi. Did you wear your yellow strides to blend in?
Next time i will sort that for you, it is peak season at the minute here, currently have no alu foil in the house but next time i hutn i'll do a mass printing for you on a sheet
They have been in a dry airflow for several hours now and are showing their true colours and characteristics, have a butchers at these
Those are beautiful! That brings back nothing but memories of absolute bliss to me. We spent many a season hunting, and eating those beauties. I had some of the most powerful psychedelic experiences with them, and never one bad one. Thanks for posting Rob. Enjoy
I am tempted to go back out again tomorrow morning it was perfect today, it sets me up for a perfect day afterfards it is like i am bulletproof, maybe the absorbing through fingers after picking 1000 is the ultimate morning pick-me-up (no pun intended), fuck coffee
I know I know I havn't been out hunting once this fall I did have a huge pile of cow manure behind the garage I collected a few years ago that I half expected a few Libs to pop up in amongst the grass that has sprouted
If you want an easy hunt find the nearest well maintained short grassy area without cattle and you do not find yourself accidentally steping in a cow pat that sucks your boot off, i find the liberty caps are not big fans of manure and find foenisecii more often where the cattle are. I have been hunting in the same part of my country every season since 1989 and anywhere i am and the climate feels right i have hunted, i'm no expert by a million miles but i've gotten to know my area and seasons well, originally without any serious intention other than the desire to pick enough to last me until they come back. If there is a god/deity then it wants us to eat these, if there is not a god/diety figure/creature/entity/essence/WE then it is just an awesome amazing gift of nature that these fungi have evolved alongside us and as an evolutionary advantagious trait they produce tryptamines to encourage humans to pick and spread and eventually cultivate then, no different to the flower that produces a specific smelling pollen to attract a precise creature to perform its pollination, we who get caught are just bee's in the scent
wow rob! nice haul! in the first set of pics i saw a few mushrooms that were not libs, and a couple that were questionable. like the very first pic. im not sure what that is. and in the second pic, the mushroom in the top left is something way different. and i see some pans in there. maybe foes maybe subbs. hard to tell. but looking through the drying set of pictures all i see is liberty caps. its clear you know what youre doing so i wont bug you with all the dont eat the ones that look different bs. haha. anyways like i said, great haul and awesome pics man. thanks for sharing. also im agreed...we need pics of your golfist disguises! haha. cheers!
