Fuzzy black polypore...

    Sorry... found in the state of Arkansas in the mountains(north Arkansas).
    I will post spore print color tomorrow...

    White spores. Pure white. Upon looking at them in a microscope, the spores are round, not oblong.
    The top is a little fuzzy .. the bottom is very fuzzy .. inside is pretty much the same color ... and fuzzy.
    Very brittle, breaks easily.

    Could be Hexagonia hydnoides

    Ummmm... That's not working out for me.
    Hydnoides has hairs on the top and pores on the bottom... this one has fuzz on the top and thick fuzz (hair?) on the bottom.
    Any other takers? I'm almost done trying on this one.
