I love this website. Thanks to everyone this has been a great wealth of knowledge dusting off my skills from over a decade ago. Things are a bit different now, and wanted to ask you all a question! How much moisture should be on the substrate surface when initiating fruiting? There is condensation on all walls, and tiny drops of water across the substrate. Not huge. Do I want the “dew” looking droplets across the pins or should I air it out a little and keep the water on the walls. I have only missed a few times and never more than once a day.

yes you want the dew across your substrate, this ensures you have a perfect rh right on the surface of your substrate.
the condensation on the walls doesn't mean much it can be used as a gauge for fresh air exchange though, you can see the dry area under your top holes and a ring around your bottom holes , this is your fae coming in through the top and out the bottom

FAE from top helps evap from substrate surfaces right? Tight packed top holes and loose bottom or do I have it backwards?

I read you only mist the cakes indirectly, water should only hit the walls and floor of your tub. Mine are happy anyway.
