Hey guys I'm total new to this mushroom game buy my question is simple when should I put this incubating tub into the fruit conditions?
It is on day 10 of spawning into the bulk substrate, mistakenly I put casing layer ( pasteurized vermiculite)
    At time of bulk spawning
on top of mixed colonised rye grain say 1cm deep casing
and underneath is bulk substrate say 10kilo coco coir, 1 kilo vermiculite mixed together with 2 kilo well colonised organic rye grain all well mixed and gently broken up in layers say 3 and half inches deep

The species is cubensis and bulk spawn temp is steady at about 75 degrees Fahrenheit,
My guess is that I should give it another few days until its uniformly covered in white mycelium,
But looking at others tubs they dont have these big white ball like mycelium others is more uniform carpets, any help or input would be much appreciated thanks guys

Welcome on board, id wait until its fully colonized on the surface and you can see the little mycelium knots forming there and pinheads

Nice looks like the same container I'm using right now! I am a first timer also but had heard if there are large fuzzballs it means humidity may be slightly high... but I'd say it's nice and white so just watch from a distance and dont touch too much to keep contams away... that's where I have a hard time! Keep us posted this site seems to be more friendly than the other sites as the people want to help and not prove they are better then you!

O and this was how mine looked during colonization... figured it may be close as we have same containers but mine is a all in one grow bag that I panicked about and felt it was too wet. I tipped her sideways after a shake and threw in the tub...this was her yesterday!

Hard to see but here's my efforts today on day 11 of bulk spawning process, I think it needs few more days

yet but I'm wondering why it has these larger white puffball almost like large burst open popcorn(all white and looking like no contam at moment)

haven't opened lid at all during this time, anyone know what its puffy balls not white flatter rhizomatic growth, I think it should be more uniform carpet of white but this I'd how it is, could be mistake I made adding casing layer in error at time of bulk spawn

Any thoughts or opinions most welcome, cheers brother In shroomery

Yea keep an eye on it so it doesnt turn fuzzy or green... could just be the mycelium trying to colonize the air. As far as I have read you want the whole surface covered in mycelium as to not contaminate any uncolonized substrate when introducing into fruiting. Hope it eases your mind a little! Do the white puffs seem sorta solid or fluffy it's hard to see in pic?

    Hey skebeau,

Looking thru the condensation on tub lid now, they look more fluffy than solid I'd say bit like a small head of white cauliflower kind of, in between these larger kind of puffy balls is the more normal rhizomatic growth so will wait till it all joins up and covers surface more uniformly, thanks bro

Seems like some nice growth! Would you be able to shine a flashlight on the white and take a pic for better visual. Also is your lid just sitting on or did you seal it?

I hear that damn waterdroplets photobombing the beauty in the background! Yea man you look close to fruiting! I have read somewhere that this guy didnt put into fruiting until pins started in colonization conditions as that means the mycelium knows its 100% colonized, then put into fruiting but I was not nearly patient enough for that shit lol.
