This is a dubtub, poo and verm. Strain is KSSS. Pins are starting to show up. Knotting looked promising but has been covered. There is a weird looking color in the corner. It has not been cased is it overlay or contamination?

This other tub had trich, performed surgery on it. So far looks like it might survive. KSSS same environment.

last tub is Hawaii same sub corner did not colonize so I removed it. Looks good to me let me know if you see anything. All popcorn spawn with poop and verm. New to the site and posting in forums. Appreciate any feedback. Happy Easter. D7514295-407A-4D9A-B8B1-64D55B515C22.jpeg

Welcome duder! Looks like you may have contam but have you swabbed with qtip to see if green rubs off onto it... if it doesnt it may just be blueing but it looks like Trich... I had same issues with my Hawaiians but just keep dabbing green with small amount of alcohol in syringe and touch green and it drips enough to stop the green and hopefully get some fruits... they seem like they should fruit for you how long you been doing this?

Thank you! Appreciate the reply, Nothing rubbed off, hoping for the best. It hasn’t turned green. It’s been in fruiting conditions for a week+ 5-8 months. Been having trouble with millet and popcorn. A lot of contamination during colonization. Most of that time has been waiting for spawn to colonize.
How long have you been doing it?

First time fruiter here... I cheated and bought an all in one bag just to watch the process. Grain with sub on top but after the grain colonized it was way wet so i threw into shoebox tub. It was dirty but it still fruited. First attempt at my own mixed sub is pinning as we speak but I also had to do some surgery in the corner. I am concerned about how your sub looks somewhat dry and the white cotton looking stuff...heard ksss are hard to get going and grow differently. The Hawaiians are also slow but potent and they sometimes get really tall. Have those been in colonization for 5 months or that is how long it's been taking to get this far?

Nice, I was thinking about ordering AIO . But figured I could get a bunch of bulk sub for better price.
I am to but it hasn’t turned green and it’s pinning. I hear mixed inputs on misting and letting it atleast get a flush before hydrating. Not sure if I should add water to the bottom. Then there is a mixture of responses on how to hydrate.
KSSS from multi spore are the slowest. I recommend GTG I’ve had the best results from that and LCs.
3 to 4 months for spawn to colonize and even then they stalled halfway through. I’m thinking they ran out of moisture.

Yea I did a verm/coir noobie substrate! I was gonna say if they keep stalling case them with some of that and they should fire back up... maybe... yea multispore is slowest. No need to mist 1st flush but soak for 2nd then mist and fan. Yea that's a bit of time maybe its trying to fight off contams that could be why it's slow. Also its prolly drying out in that time mist walls if there isnt any condensation. After 30 mins should build up humidity and if it doesn't I think it means too dry so mist again until humidity shows up after 30 mins or so. Also fan after misting with lid... hope you get some better answers or results dude hang in here it is a very fun hobby!

not much of flush, but good lord are they potent. I think substrate hydration was the problem.

second flush not looking much better, I rehydrated tub for hours. Not sure if genetics could be the issue or maybe substrate. Substrate was over when it was made.

Ksss in a jar doing a lot better then dubtubs. Thicker substrate and more humidity. Zip lock bag placed over the top and opened 2-4 times daily for fae. Also fanned. A35FEC35-1152-423D-ABF3-EE431E993586.jpeg

scraped thin layer of what I’m thinking was overlay off of each tub. Came off like semi wet paint or skin after being sunburnt. Had pins under the layer.

The struggles we go through! Yup I have decided I need to get my tek down on smaller ops before going big again... it's very discouraging to loose a big tub! Is that green or blue on the mycelium? Did you get anything to clone?

I decided to do a 20qt tub with old dried spawn. The contams beat the mycelium. I added the spawn to cold substrate. I’ve notice adding spawn to warm substrate causes quicker mycelium growth. I’m waiting to take a spore print. I have agar but haven’t used it before.

Yes, it’s frustrating. I had better results my first time growing. I’m thinking it has to do with the fluctuations in temperature. It’s starting to heat up. How did your project come out?

I had one success but the rest have failed and now my jars are taking over 2 weeks to get going... only 2 tiny spots colonized! But these Hawaiians are slow as turds! Check out my log!
